Photography cut into the street
Vinz begins with photographs of nude models, enlarges them and adds hand-painted animal heads before wheat-pasting the hybrids in public space. The contrast between vulnerable human bodies and coded masks makes the construction visible.
The process moves between photography, collage, painting and urban intervention rather than belonging to only one medium.
A changing bestiary of social roles
Across the Feel Free project, animal species help organise themes of freedom, consumerism, authority, oppression and resistance. The code creates recurring families of figures without making every encounter identical.
By placing the hybrids in the street, Vinz turns questions of identity and social control into public confrontations rather than private allegories.
A Valencia-born practice
Born in Valencia in 1979, Vinz completed a Fine Arts degree at the Universitat Politècnica de València in 2003 and began the Feel Free project in 2011.
Street works in neighbourhoods such as Russafa sit alongside exhibitions and institutional projects, keeping the city visible across both informal and formal settings.
