How to recognise the work

Classical bodies inside contemporary graffiti

Monumental Greco-Roman faces emerge through dense tags, sprayed colour and the visible rhythm of graffiti lettering.

  • Greco-Roman figures
  • Layered tags
  • Bright spray colour
  • Monumental scale

A duo formed through Valencia’s graffiti scene

PichiAvo formed in 2007 after the two artists, trained in Fine Art and Design, met through graffiti in Valencia. Their collaboration grew from a shared interest in bringing apparently distant visual traditions onto the same wall.

They work across murals, studio painting, sculpture and installation while maintaining the dialogue between classical representation and contemporary writing.

Mythology under layers of paint

Recognisable gods, heroes and sculptural fragments are not placed above graffiti as decoration. Tags, colour fields and sprayed marks interrupt the figures, so both systems remain active and equally visible.

The resulting surface feels archaeological and immediate at once: an image of antiquity built through the speed and material vocabulary of the street.

Bacchus in Valencia

In 2022, PichiAvo painted Bacchus in the courtyard of a former building in Valencia. Their official record describes it as the duo’s first mural in their city for three years.

The work offers a local, documented example of their signature structure: a classical head held inside a vivid field of aerosol lettering and colour.
