How to recognise the work

Small bicycles made from cork

Look for compact bicycle forms assembled in relief from sliced wine cork rather than painted directly onto the wall.

  • Cork relief
  • Bicycle forms
  • Small scale
  • Reused material

Cork as image and material

BikeDeSuro prepares, slices, dries and assembles cork to build miniature bicycles. The slow hand process remains visible in the texture, distinguishing the pieces from a painted symbol or printed sticker.

A positive street vocabulary

The bicycle is used to support cycling and creative reuse, sometimes joined by messages against war and racism or in support of LGBTQ+ communities. The work favours a small moment of discovery over monumentality.

A name rooted in Valencia

The alias combines the bicycle with the Valencian word “suro”, meaning cork, and echoes the local expression “cap de suro”. Interviews frame both the name and the project as products of Valencia’s cycling, wine and street-art cultures.
