How to recognise the work

The figure behind the camera

The central motif is a dark, cut-out figure whose face is hidden by a brimmed hat and the lens of a camera.

  • Camera silhouette
  • Brimmed hat
  • Stencil edges
  • Tiles and paste-ups

A self-contained street icon

The Photographer began with a stencil cut from an earlier self-portrait. Reduced to hat, camera and silhouette, it became an image that could be repeated at different scales while remaining immediately legible.

Stencil, paper, tile and relief

MRBT62 has tested the figure across paper, cardboard, small ceramic formats and three-dimensional versions. The changing support alters the encounter, while the camera-facing pose holds the identity together.

Looking at Valencia while being seen

The project grew from photographing Valencia’s street art and later placing and documenting its own interventions around the city. The artist has described returning to record pieces before weather or later interventions change them.
